A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing essential healthcare services to patients, usually working alongside a registered nurse. This professional can also be referred to as a nurse’s aide, patient care assistant, or simply nursing assistant.

Nursing assistants provide basic care and help with activities of daily living. They typically do the following:

  • Clean and bathe residents
  • Help patients use the toilet and dress
  • Turn, reposition, and transfer patients between beds and wheelchairs
  • Listen to and record patients’ health concerns and report that information to nurses
  • Measure patients’ vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
  • Serve meals and help patients eat

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Details

We have a Weekday programs that runs Monday through Friday, Morning batches and Evening batches. We also have a Weekend only programs which runs on Saturdays and Sundays.

Technology hardware and software requirements for students
  • To attend CNA online classes, you’ll need either a laptop/desktop or a mobile phone to access the required applications.
Laptop / Desktop
  • For laptop/desktop, you’ll need a stable internet connection with a minimum download and upload speed of 1.5 Mbps.
  • It is also recommended to have a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz or higher, and a minimum of 4 GB of RAM for running Canvas LMS and Zoom simultaneously. Webcam is required.
Training program fees
  • Program fee is $1500.00
Mobile Phone
  • For Mobile phones, you’ll need an Internet connection via WiFi or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE), and the Canvas mobile app requires Android 8.0 or later and iOS 15.0 or later.
  • For Zoom, you’ll need iOS 11.0 or later, iPadOS 13 or later, or Android 5.0x or later. Must have front camera.
    With these technology requirements, you’ll be able to easily access and participate in online classes on Canvas LMS and Zoom, whether on a laptop/desktop or mobile device.
Grade requirements for passing the training program
  • Students must score at least 75% in the internal final exam.

Pristine College offers the Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program that will provide students with comprehensive theory and clinical training needed to acquire the knowledge and skills to meet the CA Department of Public Health requirements for CNAs.

Theory classes include basic approaches of nursing practice, multi-cultural society, and communication are studied for the purposes of assisting persons to meet their basic needs. The role of the CNA as an assistant to the licensed nurse and the member of the health care team is studied and practiced in the classroom and laboratory. The method of instruction will include lecture, discussion, role play, demonstration and return demonstration.

As per the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in California appears to be quite positive. Overall employment of nursing assistants and orderlies is projected to grow 5 percent from 2021 to 2031, about as fast as the average for all occupations. About 220,200 openings for nursing assistants and orderlies are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire (https://www.bls.gov/ooh/healthcare/nursing-assistants.htm#tab-6).

California requires 160 hours of training for this program. The minimum number classroom/online theory training is 60 hours and 100 hours of supervised clinical training is required.
